The Fallbrook Community Garden was established to provide nearby residents living in apartments in a predominantly low-income neighborhood a safe green space to grow their own healthy food. The Garden is a community collaboration between the Fallbrook Public Utilities District (FPUD), which owns the property, managed by Mission RCD, and supported by partners Voces de Fallbrook and the Fallbrook Land Conservancy.
The Fallbrook Land Conservancy Save Our Tress program uses the space grow seedlings from their elementary school program and trees before planting in the community. Mission RCD is converting an existing structure to a greenhouse to grow native plants and for the gardeners to grow crop plants from seed. The garden is located at 1717 Alturas Rd., Fallbrook, CA. For applications and additional information, residents can call (760) 728-1332 or email info@missionrcd.org.
